Five Points practices sustainability not solely through our food. The grounds and architecture of our bakery are full of details that better this shared space.
When renovating our building on Brayton Street, we made sure to build a space that provided for all.
Our parking lot is fully green. it can absorb 3” of rainfall keeping water out of our storm sewers. It reduces heat island effect, provides a safe habitat for insects, helps mitigate global warming by converting carbon dioxide into oxygen, looks nicer for our neighbors, helps to filter the water to keep our oceans cleaner. its cheaper than concrete, stronger than asphalt, and so much more.
Our building boasts a left wall covered in vines, naturally cooling the space without relying solely on electric cooling methods. During those blazing summer days, our air conditioner runoff leads directly into a birdbath outside of our back window. Not only do the birds get a bath, our staff watches them out the window as they cook on the stove.
